New this year to The Washtenaw 100’s board of directors is Lindsay Kendrick, the marketing and human resources director for Knight’s Restaurants and Markets, which have been an Ann Arbor-area institution since 1952.

Lindsay tells how her involvement with W100 came about:

“When I was first approached about joining the board, like many others I didn’t know much about the organization. I did some research and quickly became interested. My husband and two daughters are most important to me. Our firefighters and police officers leave for work every day knowing they may not make it home to their own families. That really hit home. It’s heroic and I’m so glad to be involved.”

Lindsay is a member of the Knight’s family who has worked for the popular eateries and markets for 13 years. She returned to Ann Arbor in 2008 after living for four years in Chicago, where she worked in sales. Previously Lindsay earned a degree in marketing from Western Michigan University. Her background and skills should prove very useful to W100. She says:

“The Washtenaw 100 is a great organization but there are so many people in our community that don’t know at all about us. With my marketing experience, I hope to raise awareness of who we are and what we do to help our police and firefighters.”
