The Washtenaw 100’s Annual Dinner this October will coincide almost exactly with our organization’s founding in the fall of 1971. Think of it: We’ve been supporting the families of fallen law enforcement officers and fire fighters for a half-century. And it wasn’t long after The Washtenaw 100’s founding – 1977, to be exact – that we extended our mission and began to offer college scholarships to deserving children of our county’s police and firefighting professionals. Learn more about our history here.
Please stay tuned for more news of The Washtenaw 100 throughout the year. We’re not the anonymous organization we once were, and we plan to mark our Golden Anniversary in ways that will work to help our communities. A goal will be to increase public awareness of The Washtenaw 100, while encouraging more memberships and charitable donations. All will be to support our county’s police and fire departments, who are our true first responders, working consistently and courageously to protect us.
