The Washtenaw 100 is proud to announce it is awarding $24,000 in scholarships to area students. The Washtenaw 100 is an organization of area residents and corporate citizens whose mission is to support the families of local active law enforcement officers and firefighters who serve within Washtenaw County.

The Washtenaw 100 has maintained the scholarship program over the past 32 years and has awarded over $390,000 in scholarships. Students who apply for these scholarships are chosen based upon their demonstrated leadership, volunteer activities, academic scholarship, and stated future goals.  “The awarding of the scholarships to area students is just one program that our organization offers in support of area police and fire fighting professionals.” said Howard Holmes II, Washtenaw 100 Board Chair. “The Board of Directors felt compelled to expand the program given the financial demands during this unprecedented time.  These recipients worked hard towards their goals despite being impacting by a pandemic.  I am sure their parents are very proud, ” added Holmes.
